Elon Musk is a business magnate, industrial designer, and engineer. He is the founder, CEO, and chief engineer/designer of SpaceX; early investor, CEO, and product architect of Tesla, Inc.; founder of The Boring Company; and co-founder of Neuralink. He was also co-founder and initial co-chairman of OpenAI.Musk is known for his ambitious and sometimes controversial goals, which include reducing global warming through sustainable energy production and consumption, and reducing the risk of human extinction by establishing a human colony on Mars.He began his career in the tech industry, co-founding web software company Zip2, which was sold to Compaq for nearly $300 million in 1999. He then founded X.com, an online payment company, which later became PayPal and was sold to eBay for $1.5 billion in 2002.
